Music Education re-IMAGINEd

Contribution, Vanessa Fazio

Can you imagine a studio on wheels? Well, the crew of a bus named in memory of the late, great John Lennon did just that. For 10 months each year for the last 14 years, the John Lennon Educational Tour Bus, a non-profit mobile audio and HD video recording and production facility, has been making its way across North America to teach close to 300,000 youth per year about music, including John Lennon and The Beatles, and enable kids to participate in audio, video and broadcast technologies workshops. According to the Boston Globe, the Lennon bus is equipped with "nearly $5-million worth of donated equipment, including guitars, drums, keyboards ... remote-controlled video cameras and even a green screen." What’s most impressive, though, is the Lennon bus’ commitment to providing youth with increased access to music and digital technologies. That commitment is allowing the next generation of musicians to learn, to create, to imagine.

Another option is biofuel, which involves using the energy of organic materials to replace the function of fossil fuels. Ethanol is perhaps the most widely used of these, especially in Brazil and the United States, and is used most commonly as a blend with regular fuel.
